The title looks new to me. Somethings going on, looks like a mess.

I took a gamble and bought an old 60 vette out of florida (10 yrs ago) thinking it could have been this car. Most thought it was lost in florida (or last seen there).
I broke even on the roll of the dice.
car was white under the black paint, and had the silver blue interior under the black tuffed seats.
also had the florida registration on the windshield from the 70s, and was an old drag car.
it was close to matching the look of this car actually with all the front end modifications they did back then for drag cars. its a hoot to see what the 'real' car looked like (just as bad as the one I gambled on).

Sounds almost like what is going to happen when one of those half dozen or so 69 ZL1s, that were originally stolen from the dealership in 1969, show up. Remember that guy in Canada who applied for titles a couple years ago for all 6 of them? You know he will immediately pop up and demand the car be returned to him.
This case should get interesting real soon.

The odd thing is that the Floridian whose father purchased the car on a bill of sale 30+ years ago says that a Florida title was "applied for" in 1982, but it never indicates that he actually received a Florida title. If he had received a title, Florida wouldn't have issued another title in the same VIN to this Mathis guy in 2012.
Another good lesson - don't leave cars on "open" titles or in "bill of sale" ownership. Get them titled in your name.
