Eric, the casting number comes out to a 1967 302, 327 or 350.

The pad looks like a restamp to me? The reason I say that is how high the top of the water pump appears to be above the block. IMO

Kurt;

I got the block #'s decoded out as a `67 302, 327 and 350 block. The deck stamp is the mystery as it doesn't correlate to anything I've ever seen/heard of. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/hmmm.gif

Maybe some sort of rebuilders stamp is all I can come up with....

*edit* to add, customer reports this has been this way 20+ years, car w/engine came out of California.

Font on the deck stamp doesn't look right to me.

3 digit suffix codes started in the 70s. So, it's a restamp of unknown origin.

I doubt it a restamp. There is no reason for that with this layout. What it appears to me is that it may have a marine application in its past.

Marine came to mind for me as well.

I donīt know about this stamping but I had a 327 from a 1972 Opel years ago that no one could decode. So there are some oddball engines out there. I ran across another of those V8 Chevy (in Opel) engines some years later. I think that the second 327 was built in 1974, definitely long after the 327 was gone in the USA.
They used the rams horn exhaust manifolds from the 1964-67 Chevy II. But thatīs another story.

The B prefix may indicate Buick or the Canadian Buick-Pontiac dealerships which sold the Acadians and this may have been a 1967 warranty exchange block.
