With what looks like a real POP, CR? code (assuming CRR).

Orange with white stripes and white interior. Should make a nice color combo.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1970-REAL...=item19d54aab24 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1970-REAL-LS6-Chevelle-SS-special-order-Orange-white-interior-4-10-rear-/110952622884?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item19d54aab24 )

Thoughts on the POP?

Check out the nasty Question the guy got at the bottom of the page in the Questions section. Ouch, people are nasty these days.

Car came with a white vinyl roof as well, would be a nice combo if brought back to life.

No Kidding, was that really necessary ? I saw a roller L-78 ( no powertrain, int ect..)get 9k last week.Should this car be any less ? ( if verified of course)

Q: Take the $200 from the scrap man,that is all you have.The market is down watch mecum and barret and ls-6 chevelles are under $100,000.You have no buildsheet or window sticker proving a ls-6 AND no drivetrain or parts.The pop only shows the owners info not what options the car had.And what do you think it takes to restore a car FREE Parts.All the parts and labor are expensive even so you would end up spending $50,000 in parts and labor for a plain chevelle.........

sounds like a guy that is seriously upside down in a resto. suck it up dude, it's only money.

His quote says "sitting across the tracks for years"-----

Looks like its been sitting "on the tracks for years"---

Serious money pit (IMHO).

Here is a look at the P-O-P
I set the photo at 200%
Second photo is inverted so we can read it a little better.

Looks to be CRR Motor which is LS6 with Auto 400 (in this car Auto on the column) T0529 is Tonawanda May 29 and CRW Rear Axle which is 4:10 posi rear Axle 0410B is April 10 Buffalo.

Auto Trans reads= 70??? 1970

Space with 133 is Manual Steering with Power brakes-Radio-Disc Brakes
H=Holley
6= June Month

P-O-P looks legit to me <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/biggthumpup.gif

POP indicates a very late delivery date. Could have been a dealer Demo....or?

Vin tag is pretty rough.... But man, that would be a striking car when done.

This car was sold in my hometown. The dealership still stands but was converted into an indoor mall sometime in the 1970s. Car is too rough for me but I would love to see it restored.

IF the car is what the owner is claiming to be, it would be an awesome car to restore to as close (nom or trans) to original as possible. If it is just a 70 SS and you can get it cheap enough, restomod or protouring.

OK I have to ask, What does one do about the Vin tag? Years ago I passed on buying a Shadow Gray LS6 that had been local since new but was missing part of the vin tag due to rust. Is someone producing Vin tags? Certainly a state issued vin tag would kill the value, at least to me.

Looks like it sold for the BIN ... $15k

anyone on the site?

There are people who make VIN tags, but that's a questionable practice.

Wow 15..... I'm a little shocked even with the POP.

The only person/people who can apply a VIN is a manufacturer.

In TX What you would need to do is go to DMV and have them stamp out a
"VIN label" which is applied to the inside of the driver door jam.
It is a foil type sticker with the original VIN and has state logos on it and "Reassigned VIN" printed on it. That's how that would work.

All that bidding for someone last minute to hit the BIN. Kinda suprised, but if you like the car...

there are people who have origin pop tape- original warranty books and the machine to stamp the letters out.
