Since this has nothing to do with highperformance cars, I chose to post it here.
A friend has this in his office and we started to talk about how old this tire is. Can anyone tell ?

Thanks

Cool tire and rim too!
Lots of old ads and pics online also tires available as repops.
The 1'st ad notes 1913, the last link for the repops 1909-1927.

Anders,

I saw these tires, to my amusement, on a restored 1912 Cadillac at the GM Heritage Center in 2006. The tires were fresh so obviously they were repops, but possibly an indication to when the "Non Skid" tires originally were in use.

Looks like a tire off of Cumby's first car <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/rolleyes.gif

No...correction...second car..his first ride was a horse <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/beers.gif

So... let me get this straight. I look at this tire and think it is just a "dummy" set up for advertising, to be put on display at the tire centers.

You guys are telling us that this is how the actual tread of the non skid tire was made, to spell out "non skid"? Really? Seems incredible even in the early years that the designers wouldn't know that the tread pattern cculd have some effect on handling.

Hmm.

Not off mine. I still have all four, but the wooden spokes are petrified. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/bs.gif

That's probably off Charley's first Pro-Touring ride.

When I first realized that the thread was made of words I thought "this is crazy".
Thanks for the links Pete ! <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/biggthumpup.gif I didnīt think I would find anything on the internet on these, but I was wrong.
Yes Ove, I guess they would never put those tires on that car unless they were period correct.

Took a trip to the AACA museum in Hershey Pa this weekend and found these on a car in the basement (special granted tour).
