We have all seen 1969 Camaros with nothing at all original to them and just holding the VIN position of the original ZL1 bring hundreds of thousands of dollars at public auction. Camaros with ZL1 trim, VIN tags and correct parts bring upwards of $500,000.00

This ZL1 is priced at $450,000.00 obo/trade call 630-377-1222 for more info

It would appear to be the same Car.

This ZL1 was painted black and did run a similar small block set up in the 1970s.

This ZL1 was known as <span style="font-weight: bold">&quot;The Black Phantom&quot;.</span>

It's just so cool seeing the evolution of the car through the pics!
Especially being a ZL1 that original hood w/ frt. plate shot is priceless including shoe behind the wheel!!!
Comparing Nats shot w/ the '76 mag article pics Jan posted, aside from hood change, decal additions and a few other details the car looks much the same, next owner?

That is the rear seat frame bulk head with a factory &quot;crayon&quot; X-code under the glue. Shows X4 on this X44 code COPO/ZL1. It is fathom green paint misted over the factory gray primer so it looks to have a blue hugh to it.

We routinly check for the correct codes on these orginal body cars.

The hole is a screw hole from the added rear seat firewall. We had to unscrew the firewall to see the crayon marking.

On some cars the crayon marks are hidden with a lot of glue like this one, some cars have less glue and the marks are visible. On my car they went bezerk with the glue and it has even more than this one but you can see the X7 if you look hard and know what to look for.

FYI A Pace car has X0.

Just want to point out an error in the &quot;cars-on-line&quot; advertisement of this awesome ZL1

The newsletter erroneously states &quot;it has been certified to be a re-body with original tags&quot;

We all know this car is NOT a re-body, but an authentic 69 ZL1 which retains its original &quot;born with&quot; body and ZL1 glory.

Here is the link to the screw up. Nickey Chicago has already been notified.

I was actually able to track down Paul Bergert and speak with him the other day. Great guy and was shocked I reached out to him. What a great story on this car!

Here's a little compilation of all the photos from the auction and threads I've been able to piece together.

Thanks Stefano...was looking for the old thread on that car..that &quot;Reggie VIN only&quot; ZL1 sold for well over 200k...that blue rebodied ZL-1 recently fetched well over 400k if I recall....

Still surprised at the price of this car....one could still spend some $$ on this car to bring it back stock and probably come out ahead...
