Painted center Crager SS's that were purchased in the mid 70's. Fronts are reverse 14x6 and rear 14x10
I know I do not post on the board very much but I absolutely love the day 2 items and wanted to share a little of mine.

Always loved the look of Crager SS since the first day I saw them. I've got them on my 66 Nova straight axle.

Love the color, will run it by my little guy Danny - he wants his '67 RS to be 'blue'!

With the bias ply raised outline white letters, big reverse offset in the rear, etc, etc, that car really takes me back to high school in the 1980s. You really nailed the look!!

Wow, that wheel/tire size combo is exactly how I remember the cars looking back in the day. Very nice.

What do you mean by painted center? Just the lug pockets, or the whole center section?

cook_dw
10-20-2012, 02:45 AM
Sorry I meant the lug pockets.. Wrong wording.

I love it!
Tunnel ram and velocity stacks would look killer sticking through the hood.

For some reason I thought there was a shade or two difference. Im probably wrong but I know the paint that was chosen was LeMans.

In this case the old saying "less is more" comes into play. Car looks good like it is IMO. Reminds me of the "high school" style of cars I remember back in the late 70's. Very simple mods, clean, not gaudy.

Yeah that was my thought on the look. Only other thing I plan on doing is either stripping down the traction bars & painting them another color (not sure which would look good) or making my own bars and having them chromed. Not sure yet what I will do.

The neighborhood looks like the ones here in Tustin, Orange. Just curious, where did you live at the time of the photo?
