Looked at this car, last night, 20 minutes from my house. Didn't know it existed until two days ago. Original owner with the window sticker, sales invoice, P-O-P, pre-delivery, finance paperwork, etc. He's changed some things like exhausts, shocks, tires (original Sport Car 200 in trunk), battery and cables, rad cap, re-cored the radiator, radiator and heater hoses (he still has originals), T3s. Mostly original paint. No damage that I can find. 84,XXX miles. I would like to buy it but I have zero idea what it is worth. Any guesstimates on value would be appreciated.

Wow......great car.

The owner also still has the original fan belts and plug wires. It was policy, at the selling dealership, for the service tech prepping the car for delivery, to put his first name (in white paint) on the driver side inner fender.

Unless somebody buys it, I'm going back over tomorrow to see it one more time and make an offer.
Sal...we can do burnouts in it this summer at BG. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/3gears.gif

A CAR THAT ORIGINAL why has the master clylinder been changed

The master is trivial compared the collective originality of the car. My old 37k original mile fathom green z had a 70 master when we bought it. Arbitrary.
Good luck mark! Nice find

That is one incredible find. If it is indeed the car from the ad at $84KUS, you can bet the dealer under consignment probably is after 20 - 25% (guessing) knowing that it is certainly rare to have an original owner with iron clad docs bring it in.
To a '69 Z afficionado, this car borders that holy grail status and is basically priceless. But, and I really hate to put it this way, in this depressed economy, I would think you would still be able to get it for $65K hard negotiated cash money, probably down from $95K it would have brought a few years ago. That is the business end, with the emotional end factored out. I would be prepared to walk away a couple times to get it for that, but there is risk involved with that approach.
This is purely my opinion, nothing else, and is open to any debate and opposing opinions.

It has to be close to where I am in Lexington and I've never heard or seen the car.
Where was it bought at? You better jump on it.

It is still listed on Carsonline for $85K. Appears to be his ad, not a dealer. Nice, original car, but a lot of scoots... Red Z Carsonline (http://classiccartradernet.com/classifieds/category/315/Chevrolet/listings/2808/1969-Chevrolet-Camaro-Z28-American-Classic-in-Shelbyville,-KY.html)

Bummer, I was looking forward to tune back in with pictures of it at your place...hang tight it's a tough market the guy may call you in a few weeks.
In my opinion when you run across a car like this you pretty much have to go with what the owner wants for it. Usually if you make an offer you will be out.

I agree. If it is a one-of-a-kind car and it is the car you want, pay the asking price (within reason, of course).
Over the years I have done that and never regretted it:
Example 1: in 1985 a guy in Wisconsin wanted $24,000 for his yellow 1971 HemiCuda ragtop. I fedexed him the deposit and drove right out there to pick it up. At the same time two different big dollar collectors were trying to bargain him down on price by a $1000 or 2.
Example 2: in 1988 after calling this guy every few months for 5 years, he finally sold me his original paint, orange and white 1971 Hemi Charger sunroof car with 33,000 miles. When he finally agreed, I told him to name his price and when he did it was rather high for a comparable 1971 hemi Charger, but I wanted THAT car. His price: $16,500. This is the one in Tim Welborns collection now.
Example 3: The black 1972 Formula 455HO 4 speed I am currently working on. I knew this was the only one like it ever built. The gentleman in British Columbia I bought it from named his price and though it was rather high in relation to other 72 Formulas, it was reasonable and I really wanted that car.
If you want THAT car. Go for it. You won't regret it later

Steve's advice is golden and especially important example #1's point about how you may be competing w/ other buyers whether aware of it or not.
As soon as I see enough to say yes I do it quickly and like to load up split then stop a few miles down the road and spend time looking at details...and hopefully gloating.
Saying yes quickly has saved my asss a few times too when other buyers have shown up and the seller tells them sorry/sold.
Best thing on paying full ups is it sometimes includes extra parts not mentioned as some sellers keep this tight until a deal is made and you could be missing #'s parts etc.
Nice piece, best o' luck whatever you do!
