Good luck Dave! I've been looking too...

Per Rick's (Mr70) post when he was selling his tow bar and tabs a week or so ago........:
I bought the straight steel cotter pins @ my local ACE hdwe.store in the nuts & bolts aisle.
Made by Hillman & called "hitch pin clips",part #644F in the assortment #49 tray,is how you identify them.

I'll bet that farm hardware type places and snow plow suppliers have both the oversize rivets and the hairpin clips too.

...that's how I ended up getting my pins...HA!...
Those BIS pins are the only ones I've run across. FYI, the early magazine ads and articles have shown a slightly different tow bar (look at the latch mechanism) as well as different pins. Here you can see the pins with a washer and all. In the article they use the pins on a Mustange with TB28 tabs.

Does anyone know what the markings on the heads stand for? Three hints.
1) I've been an Ironworker for many years
2) I have wrenches with those markings
3They were very big in the steel industry back in the day
Bethlehem Steel if you are gonna let the cat out of the bag. They used rail road rivets and drilled the hole for pins to make them into clevis pins.
