Ken,

That was great. I flew two of the planes pictured here (TWA 757 and MD80). What a great trip down memory lane. Loved the old liveries.

Wow, what a neat sight. LAX has sure changed a bit since I lived in Inglewood in 70 and 71. I saw the Black Playboy A/C a few times and was there to see the first DC 10 land at LAX. When you pull up this sight there is a drop down menu at the right "Photography" Some great shots there too, San Diego and Chicago.
Anyone remember these ?

Cool Mike. My folks have 8mm video of a United Caravelle landing in Cleveland in the early 60's.
There is also a Caravelle at the Port Columbus, Ohio airport. It is has an Airborne Express logo on it.

That Caravelle was the first plane used by a now extinct overnight express small package hauler based in Columbus, and at one time was open to the public as part of a museum that was on the airport grounds.
The poor thing hasn't moved in years, and they can't get rid of it. The last time that it was air worthy was at least 25 years ago.

My old man was the flight crew for the first American Airlines DC 10 flight from JFK to LAX back in 71, 72.? we were all on the flight and I will never forget, they had a baby grand piano in 1st class.! Had a lot of great flights/layovers with Pop during his 38 yr career with AA. 707 was still his favorite bird....Sully
