Hmmmmmm, I can't IMAGINE why anyone would have wanted to break into that barn in 1994 <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/shocked.gif Man, that is some chunk of Mopar heaven there. Wonder what that radiator shell is with the word "CHRYSLER" vertically in raised letters on the side.....some type of industrial engine setup? <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/confused.gif

That was a Hemi powered irrigation pump from the 50's. He had 2 of them!
Indeed, it was a cool place to see.

there used to be several hemi powered irrigation pumps in the local farm fields, many still operational into the 80's

Would be a nice collection if it were being stored and cared for ..Just looks like rare cars and parts being turned to scrap iron by a hoarder .Sad very sad ...

I remember visiting Hugo Auto Salvage in Hugo, MN around 1979-80. They had a 426 Hemi running the body crusher the day I stopped by. I asked the salvage owner if he would sell the motor. Not a chance! He said it was the best one he ever used to run the crusher.

Atleast most of the stuff is out of the elements. I agree he needs to protect more of it though.

The was one of those Air Raid Sirens loacted on top of a govt building in my Home town St. John's Nfld. In sept 1961 my dad was driving us to school passing that govt building and we asked him what the machine was and he said an airraid siren that was no longer used. Within second the siren went off (on a test) but we did not know it was test. There were three sh#t scared kids that morning as we figured it was areal air raid.
Also saw these Chtysler engines power remote industrial plants as well.

If it was all found and accounted for a major part of the hobby would completely vanish. I'm personally glad people are still sitting on treasure troves of this stuff!

those old Hemi's were used on lots of stuff back in the day, they used them as mobile powerplants at airfields as well...pretty cool.

The old Hemi's pictures in the enclosure were from irrigation pumps from around the area.
You never know what you are gonna find out there.

there was a video made of his cars back in the late 80's/early 90's
i dont know if Frank Mitchell bought all of his stuff or not.

There was 2 x 1967 GTX's there, one Hemi car, and the 440 you see in the picture.
How about a Max Wedge car in the Weeds.
