Price has changed several times in the last couple years and the story has changed more than once. Was on ebay last month for $2500.

Keeps popping up on ebay. Two years ago he said the partial vin down by the oil filter "matched" the Tennessee paperwork. At one time he showed a pic of a repop trim tag. Even offered the VIN plate to go with everything else. Price was around $7500 IIRC.

Last month I believe he stated that he did not know the history of the block and could not "guarantee" the authenticity of the stamp.

Being the seller is offering an identity theft deal his word means absolutely zero so using statements like 'pad reads' etc there's a good chance tags and/or stamped lump aren't original items to begin with?
I like the kit car reference!

VIN 124379N675878

Reminds me of the rally green 69 Z28 / RS "kit car" that Mr P ended up with a few years ago from the GA "restoration" house. Pre repro body days but donor body fit right under the VIN and tags, POP, etc that went with the tags. Plenty of trails of pictures, ebay sales, etc to bust that one ... funny thing was that even Mr J commented on it ... over on the CRG site ...
