My 69Z, has dark green standard interior. I have been saving a set of nos floor mats for yrs to use in the car - today i took them out of the box for the first time in 12 yrs. The box was taped up, purchased on ebay back in the day. The part number on the box indicated dark green - but when i pulled them out they look to be med green to me. Significanly lighter than expected - and when placed on the floor, the color contrast to the rest of the interior is significant. I know that some of the interior parts on the color cars vary in shades, like the steering wheel plastic varies significantly to the painted steering column.

My question - does anyone have a dark green interior and if so, do you have the orig mats that would go with that interior? If so, is the color more dark green than med green that im seeing?

Appreciate any help....

Eddie my two dark green interior cars have the same color mats you are referring too... I would say they are fine and the will match you steering wheel better or you can take out the green interior and send it my way...

same color mats in my DG Z/28 interior.

ok, im confused, and that is not hard to do

- - are both of you saying your mats are considered dark green, but the color is really med green in color? I would asssume dark green would be almost the color of the carpet - not 2 shades lighter like mine are?

I don't think any of us said our mats are DG. Medium green, lighter than the carpet and interior. Not sure I ever saw dark green mats. BBBenny has original mats in his fathom green camaro but can't remember if it has a DG interior or not. Its either black or DG if I remember correctly. Maybe DG interiors got black mats or that lighter green color Ed. Maybe early cars are different? Wouldn't lose any sleep over it though. Put em in or sell em to me.

During 1969,they offered two green shades of 4 vinyl contoured floor mats for the Camaro,Nova,Chevelle &amp; Impala series.
They were one generic size &amp; you cut their borders to fit the certain vehicle.

Dark Green:
Fronts #993668

Midnight Green:
Fronts #993667
Rears #993670

They also offered them in clear vinyl as well.

Tha chair was my dad's barber chair. He bought that in the late 40's after the war. Him and my grandfather went to pick it up, my dad dropped his side, broke the front frame. He and my grandfather fixed it and if has been that way forever. My dad cut hair until he died at 85. Haircuts at his shop
in Aliquippa were still 5 dollars and you can have a shot of VO if you like as well. Can you imagine
how many assess sat in that chair over the years. I know mine has been in there many times from when i was born until i left home for work at 18. And there after when i visited - i had the obligation to get a touchup and have some father to son talks sitting in that chair.

I moved the chair to AZ 4 yrs ago - and use it many times in the garage to just sit back and reflect
on what to do next - cars, life etc. Many a beer have been consumed in that chair sine i got it.

Mannnnny great memories - thanks for asking!

Ed, I just posted over on CRG about this. My 70 Z project has a dark green interior, and dark green mats. They look identical to the black ones in my 69Z. There are some letters on the back but no numbers. I hope this helps.

Ed, obviously they are the ones you can use if you want to. Again obviously no one can really answer your question so they can not be wrong. Obviously meaning if you like em, use em. Next question please.

You have the Dk. Green mats.Midnight Green are almost black in color.
I think the Dk. Green mats look great in your car and define a difference between the carpet.
Do you have the matching rear mats too?

There is no right or wrong answer here,as either color mat was possible to be included with your car when it was assembled,or bought later on over the counter.
Unless you have the build sheet or window sticker showing Midnight Green,I would keep them as the contrast looks good as opposed to one straight color throughout the car.

BTW-These particular mats below,
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1967-1968-1969-C...=p2047675.l2557 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/1967-1968-1969-CAMARO-FLOOR-MATS-GM-LICENSED-GREEN-/181040393112?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories &amp;hash=item2a26d92b98&amp;vxp=mtr&amp;nma=true&amp;si=ofusE12%2 F0MC0O90w3cuD4rTX9Zg%3D&amp;orig_cvip=true&amp;rt=nc&amp;_trks id=p2047675.l2557)
were never offered by Chevrolet 45 years ago,but are a modern day fantasy idea someone recently licensed/made.

I still contend <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/scholar.gif that <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="color: #FF0000"><span style="font-size: 14pt">'red mats'</span></span></span> is the correct answer.............ho, ho, ho, ho, ho!!!

This thread is hilarious. FWIW, my 69 Malibu, phathom green, green interior with green vinyl top, came with black floor mats. That is what came with the car when I bought it some years back, the build sheet only specified RPO B37 which is color keyed floor mats. I don't know if these were ever changed out, but they have original GM part numbers on the back and have an appropriate amount of wear for the car's mileage.

They made a lot of Camaros and Chevelles with the same color interior as your mats. Years ago I redone an interior on one of my 69 Camaros that matched the color of your mats. I am looking for that paperwork as we speak, I am almost certain that color was not called dark green. Frank

Like i said earlier - i believe the color match of the mat to the interior would be a med green interior as we know it.
