Hi There,
Was cleaing out my parents house in Baldwin and found the original window sticker and dealer sales invoice for a 72 Camaro SS I bought new from Rupp Chevrolet in Lynbrook, NY on 10/27/1971.

VIN: 1Q87K2N122596, color 65-65 flame orange.

If anyone out there knows of the car or has a way of tracking it, the paperwork is here for the asking.

Wow , very nice of you to offer that to the owner, most people don't put the Effort in. Someone has posted for you at Nasty Z28.com. Would be so Cool if the owner gets hooked up with his paper. Good job being a great hobbiest......

Well,
Having a bit of a problem finding pix of the 72, but would gladly share some of the 68 and 69. I'll work on the 72.

68 is 396/375, bought from Baldwin.

69 is also from Baldwin. Car had been sent to Motion for Hooker headers and dyno tune, which included distributor recurve and carb set-up prior to delivery. Deal must have cancelled for some reason and was sitting on the lot until I came along and bought it. Last shot (with wifey) was taken in 1974 when we sold the car when we bought our first house....in retrospect a very sad day!

I know that when I raced at the strip, you had to remove both...so they didnt fly off and kill someone <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/smile.gif

That's what I remember too, but looking at cars that race in pure stock classes, they don't seem to remove them. That was a safety concern. What's changed?
