I have a question on how the rocker to quarter panel seems in the wheel well area was finished off from the factory. I have seen them with open seems or welded and ground down. If that was an open hole would they have seam sealed it? The picture of the orange car is the car from MCACN on the rotisserie. Nice example. What have you seen on original cars? George

Yes they were brazed at the quarter/rocker there, and also quarter/rocker in the door jam and also at the tulip panel/quarter in the trunk opening area. On the tulip panel you see the caulk seam, and get closer to the trunk lid it will disappear where the braze is located.

resto4u, thanks for reply. So are you saying both open seams in the picture below should be closed up with braze & ground? Or just the upper seam. The picture of the orange car is factory but top braze is not finished off and lower one doesn't look like it was touched.
May have just been rushed that time. Picture below is my rocker at this point. George
George:
On my car (08A Z/28) only the top seam is brazed. Definitely brazed and not welded.
The bottom one is left open.
The rocker has drains built in, so it really doesn't matter if water enters, unless there are leaves or other debris that will hold the moisture. Would take a pic for you, but the wheels are on right now and can't get the cameral in there.

I agree with resto. Both are usually brazed although it's not uncommon to see the lower one have a spot of braze that holds nothing. I've never seen them ground, or dressed out. Just sent on down the line.
