Thanks Bruce! <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/biggthumpup.gif Reserve on my LS6 is $90K. All original drivetrain, paint, trunk, and most of interior. National record holder. She runs like a top and pulls like a freight train!

I really like this quote from David Bunn from a post he made over at chevelles.com last year:
Non racers don't understand the preparation and attention to detail that is required to move a two ton Chevelle, on real street tires, to low 12 second ETs. What you and fellow pure stock racers are accomplishing is truly amazing!
By 1970 we were already jaded, veteran, performance junkies having seen everything from 389 tri-powers,455 HOs,427 side oilers,428 SCJs,426 wedges, six paks, and hemis to L-79 fuelies, L-89 headed 396s,L-88s and ZL1 427s. BUT, when the the LS6 engine was introduced we knew the GENERAL had come up with something special. Special because it was a streetable high horsepower driver. The 11 to 1 compression wasn't a problem because gas stations, on every corner, had 93+ octane fuel for .30/gallon. Standard 3.31 gearing and the then 60 mph speed limit only cranked the engine up to 2500. Road trips were a blast and punctuated with full throttle lapses in judgment. One thing you will never forget, your first time... hearing the whine of a rock crusher in low gear on a quiet summer night!

That is a very nice car, too bad you want to sell it. If i were you, i would keep it, unless i had a good reason to sell it. :)

Jerry Blalock bought the car new as you can see above. He asked the dealership to add the vinyl roof before he took delivery because he liked the look. Vinyl roof on the car is the one that the dealership installed.

Some of you might remember that David Bunn campaigned two 70 Chevelles. The red one is a rare L78, also a North Carolina car delivered new at Y. Z. Foss Chevrolet in LaGrange. It was also for sale this week and is now sold. It's on its way to Maine and will be campaigned again.

My best friend purchased the 1970 L78 Chevelle and is trying to track down the original owner. He has talked to David Bunn, wicked nice guy, who said he purchased the car from the second owner. Is there anyone out there that might know/have any information regarding the car pre David Bunn. David purchased the car without the drivetrain and my friend is of course looking for information on what happened to the original engine and transmission.
Thanks,
Al in Maine

Ditto. Congrats!
My Brother bought the car. I saw it listed here and told him about it and He made the call and started the ball rolling with Dave Rogers who went above and beyond the call of duty getting us all the information and photos we needed along with many phone calls to both owners . The car is now at the Chevelle doctors (maybe a few here know the doctor I didn't want to name the place ) getting a few things put back on it. He wants to keep it as much as a survivor as he can . So for now Thanks Dave and Sam and the other Dave :) I will get my brother to get a screen name here so he can keep you all informed
