Merollis on Ford Rd. in Garden City was not affiliated with the east DETROIT dealer. Ron...
"That Merollis, what a GREAT GREAT guy"!!
That is the "jingle" from his ads, oh about 40 years ago! I used to hear that on the radio daily.

"The great Great Guy " jingle was part of a franchise marketing campaign that GM offered in the 70's and 80's. When I lived in Winnipeg from 77-80 a dealer named Terry Balkin used the campaign as did a Vancouver dealer at the same time. For those whi read Jim Wangers book when he had his franchise in Milwalkie he used the program there. GM marketing likely made sure that two dealers from the same region whould not have the same campaign.

Sorry to be a neophyte regarding this, but were there actually 5 ZL-1's stolen?
And if so, were any of them ever found?

Later affiliated or not it's probable the Merollis Garden City and Merollis Detroit dealerships did originally have something to do with each other as their dealer codes are sequential, see below.

Dealer codes were assigned alphabetically. Merollis is after Merollis.
