This is a very solid and real SS 396 4 speed Nova. I have the original engine in my garage and it has never been decked so all of the numbers are there. The car is now running a first generation 502 and a Doug Nash 5 speed. I don't have the original Muncie.
The car is Shadow Gray with a black bench seat interior. It was treated to a mild restoration in the early 80's when it was painted red and given new GM door panels and a new GM dash pad. In the early 90's it was returned to it's original color of Shadow Gray which is now very faded.
The car was previously owned by a GM parts counter employee and he purchased one of the first 502 engines that were available. Since it was installed in the early 90's the car has been driven about 20,000 miles. It runs very well. The original 12 bolt is in the car and it was beefed up with Strange axles and a few other improvements when the 502 was installed.
The body is very good. There is some rust at the left rear quarter wheel lip and a dent in front of the left rear wheel. There is also a dent in the right fender. Solid trunk and floors.
I looked behind the back seat for a build sheet and it's not there.
