View Full Version : Red line radial tires.

What are the better or best quality red line radial tires out there these days. I purchased a set of redline Gaterbacks out of NC years ago but they never made it to mounting on the car. The bead and sidewall of one tire blew out when it was initially aired up. I'm ready to try this again with hopefully better results.

We have a set of BFG Silvertown Radial Redlines..215 or 225/70 x 14 on Karen's 69 Camaro...they are top quality tires...got them from Vintage.

We also have a set of the Diamond Back Classics...redlines made from Firestone Indy 500 hi-perf radials...also have a set of these in blackwall...great tires.

hope that helps..wilma

We have a set of the BFG Silvertown 215-70-14 redline radials on my wife's 69 Camaro convert, and we love them. Bought them direct from Coker at the Portland Swapmeet. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/burnout.gif

----Im sorry as I like Corky Coker, but Coker radials are the worst of the bunch. They are not even close to being any kind of performance tire. Had them on my 64 GP for awhile and the car just felt like it was swimming down the road. Then in a weak moment I bought a set of the goldlines for the Vette and they were even worse. Radial TAs get my vote hands down and you can get them from Coker although you may find them elsewhere for less.......Bill S

I have a set of 245-60-15 redlines on my 68 Charger. I got them from Diamond Back and they are made from a performance Yokahama. Great tires but expensive. I will be visiting their plant in SC when I am in Myrtle Beach next month. They can come up with most any size and sidewall coloring.

Thanks guys. Obviously I need my confidence restored in these redlines. Wilma, I am not familiar with Vintage. Can you PM contact info. Canuck your source sounds promising also. Would like to learn more. Thanks.
