Was looking through an old Auto Trader (Ohio & Western New York - 10-15-1992) and there was a little ad for Yenko Duece #29 of 176 built. $12,500. Sold new Konner Chevrolet, Columbus, OH, Johnny Griffin, Gallatin, TN.
I have the ad if anyone is interested and may be able to scan it.

It says 4 speed, but no color given in the ad. Looks to be a pretty dark color from the ad pic.
Looking at some other ads in there, whew, even in '92, there were some pretty smoking deals. Example: '68 Z28, tile, factory guages, fold down rear seat, 350 but MO block comes with car, little rust for $6400. Doesn't sound too bad for just back in 1992.

I bought my Deuce from Johnny. That car went to Florida IIRC, and is still there.

Forest Green, 4sp, no p/s, stock number 29, it was the 44th car built. It was a project car, and still is.

I looked at a motorless, rusted 69 IPC at Johnnie's. It was way overpriced.

Isn't that the same car that can be seen on the site "Cars in Barns"? The picture shows the car buried up to the frame in the middle of a field.

The pic in the Auto Trader is pretty rough.

Yes, same car. That picture was taken in Turners Station, KY at the home of the second owner. I took the car back to him several years ago, he still lives at that same place. The landscape had changed significantly over the years, but we parked the car in roughly the same place and took a pic.

It was in rough condition, but was exactly what I wanted; all there, original drivetrain, original paperwork, POP, inventory sheet, rare shifter, wheels, spare, hood tach, all emblems, etc... I wanted a resto project!
The second owner is a very cool guy, I let him take it for a spin - he drove it like he stole it!! <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/eek.gif

Cool car, can you post the picture of it restored but in the same spot?
I have seen the one where the car is sinking many times.

That the one that went to J&W?
The yellow one in the NNN magazine might have been mine.
