If you want to find modern equivalents, Google pozzi racing and he has charts to compare to new springs

I've posted a new thread on Impala.net forum for help on this topic. Hopefully I'll hear from someone soon for an answer.

CZ fits a variety of cars/engines, including 327, 396, 427 and sp hi perf 427. This comes right out of the GM parts book chart.

----You may gain a little insight and even possibly find the right springs on Eaton Springs website. I found it helpful a couple of weeks ago with a 67 442 Im working on......Bill S

Someone at Impala.net got back to me and said that the information you're looking for should be in the 1966 Assembly Manual. Hope that helps.

Scott, the GM parts book has a page with all the spring codes in it for group 7.000 for 1966 full size Chevrolets. There they list the CZ code for both big and small block. I would imagine a small block air car with full options might take the same spring as a big block non air car. Don't know, just reporting what I have in my book. Part number 3953915, load rate 2,982 lbs. As an example, it lists body series 15469 327 w/C.A.C. as well as several other body series numbers and engines including the 396, 427 and special high performance 427 that ALL use code CZ springs.
