Pretty much sums it up. No L78 or Z28 codes on LA Tags, only norwood tags.

Look here for more information:

Post a pic of the build sheet and the engine stamps here and I am sure that someone can tell you if they are real or not.

Good Luck!

The tank sheet is real, but at a glance, I don't see the 375 hp on it.

Not a big time expert, but I don't like that engine stamp.

If you are in the market, have you looked at Darrens for sale on this site and NastyZ28? It is very clean and a well known car, and can be had for $15,000 less than this car. And it's BLUE! <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/smile.gif

Barry, I looked to buy that car a few years back and was told avoid, avoid, avoid as the previous owners were known re-stampers and shady characters. And I am almost 100% positive that 396-375 was NOT on that build sheet when I looked at it, and it looks like the same sheet.

Darren's is the safer bet.

Do you mean that the guy selling this car is known restamper or was the guy he bought from a restamper. Also do the numbers on motor not look like originals or were they restamped?

That was you who called me to ask for advice on that car? You should have told me you were from Yenko.net. It's certainly easy for me to say since mine is for sale to. But that car is tainted. The place that restored it was under question with other cars as I recall. And $65 is seriously all the $ for an L78. If your going to pay that much wouldn't you expect it to be perfect? its not, doesn't even have the dual snorkel at that price! Look to spend another 2 to 3k. If your going for an L78 at least you know what your getting with mine, no smoke n mirrors. And a hell of a lot cheaper. Call me again if you want to talk about my car and price I am a motivated seller you'll save more than $15k. And you'll know you have a real L78. You can ask the previous owners or look at the real build sheet.

I also wouldnt trust that car or dealer..All his cars are overpriced and they dont know what they are talking about..Just buys cars at auction and tells the story..Also that car has been for sale for a long time. They tried to tell me that the nova they have was original paint...I just laughed.

The car has been in the hands of Mark Young at Chev Connection - I was told that for this reason it should be avoided. I don't know Mr. Young. I have no experience with cars from Chev Connection other than this one. I was just told "steer clear" it has been "f-ed with"
