My friend asked me if this one was real. It's the black/red one:

Normally I'd say yes, because MCACN is the kind of show that would have real ones. But wasn't the B-M V-8 Vega a phantom car? So I can't answer my friend - can you?

Could be wrong but that looks like the beautiful Motion tribute car Dan V. built a few years back?

Pete,

You are corret....Greg and I built this B-M Clone Chevelle for Bruce Arenson, who still owns it to this very day. This was a fun build on an amazing rust free 1969 Chevelle. Feel free to look at these pictures.

Diego;

As you know, many writers simply dont do their research or in some cases, turn info over to another writer for the final features. BOTH of these cars are indeed Tributes, and were clearly marked on their ID signs as such.

Although we do occasionally allow exceptionally high quality Tributes/Clones/Replicas at MCACN, they must be labeled as such and they are not eligible for Concours or Day2 Concours judging. We do not allow Tributes/Clones/Replicas in any of our Special displays.

For 2014, the identification of any Tribute/Clone/Replica that is accepted and on display will be very clearly marked, so that there is no confusion.

Also, please let your friend know that Motion Madness returns to MCACN for 2013, and I have spoken to the owner of the well known REAL black and red '69 Baldwin-Motion Chevelle, who has agreed to bring it out for our viewing pleasure.

THANKS!

Hey Bob!

My friend is involved with the diecast model folks and tries to find good cars to replicate. However, he only suggests "real" cars so if you B-M folks know of any '69 Chevelles besides the black Mexican car, the black Suydam car, and the brown 396 one, feel free to post 'em here because he's watching the thread.
