All the stars lined up on this 1967 Corvette roadster; hi-performance options, colors, originality, and paperwork.

This is a red/black NCRS Top Flight and Bloomington Benchmark awarded Corvette (Bloomington Gold and Bloomington Survivor in all four areas).

It came with 12 performance and luxury options that are all documented on the NCRS Verified Tank Sticker and Shippers Copy. It also has the original customer Protect-O-Plate with color and driveline codes embossed on it, so there are three pieces of NCRS verified paperwork. The engine, transmission and rear end are all original and they have not been tampered with.

435 Horsepower 427 Engine (L71)

4 Speed Transmission (M21)

3.70 Posi Traction Rear End (G81)

Transistor Ignition (K66)

Special Suspension (F41)

Off Road Service Exhaust (N11)

Tinted Glass (A01)

Power Windows (A31)

Tinted Windshield (A02)

AM/FM Radio (U69)

Auxiliary Hardtop (CO7)

Power Steering (N40)

This Corvette spent most of its life in Virginia and was ordered along with a similarly optioned maroon ’67 435 horse Corvette roadster that two friends owned. Total miles are only 41,000 and the car has never had any damage, it was obviously driven very carefully over the years.

The original red paint has held up well and the interior is beautiful.

Thanks,

Tim

More from Tim!

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Bruce,

Here are some undercarriage and engine shots along with some interior shots. The frame is amazing and the interior is like new, but it’s all original.

The F41 shocks are original and dated. This is the only 425 horse Corvette anyone has seen with power steering, some say the option wasn’t available with the L71, but it is documented on the Shippers Copy and Tank Sheet.

Thank you, again.

Absolutely Beautiful! What a find. When I talked to Tim back in January, he said he was on to something special, boy he was not kidding. Now I know why Tim did not want my old Lynndale Benchmark Roadster from Tom O'Grady when it came up for sale .

Thank you for the comments, guys.

Where is the bullet hole car these days?

Bill, I was interested in Tom’s car, but this car didn’t steer me away from it. I found kind of a barn fine ’67 350 horse Corvette roadster that’s never been judged or seen at a show. I ended up buying this very original maroon/white Corvette in mid February and had five weeks to prep it for its first ever NCRS judging. It’s first time out, it received a Top Flight award. I think this car will Benchmark and Bow Tie, it’s really fantastic with great paperwork and options.

----Ive lost track of it, Tim. Stretch and I raced that car right out in front of Classic Motors against an ex-Bob Bondurant 1960 that had a very strong small block in it. Mike Hanson kept claiming the bullet hole car (pre bullet holes) would loose. WRONG!!! That 67 was the fastest un-altered 435 I ever drove. The power steering couldnt have robbed too many horses.
----Id love to see some pics of that maroon/white car........Bill S

Hi Bill, I know where the bullet car is. He bought it from Roby Price years ago and will not be for sale anytime soon.

Tim,

I must travel in all the wrong circles. How do you find all these Fantastic cars? That Maroon car sounds like another Benchmark Car found for sure! Great Job!!! I can't wait to see it @ Bloomington this year. I want pictures too!

what a great find! can't believe the orange paint on the manifolds still. I would think most of that would have been burnt off if its breathing a healthy 425hp. That car must be running rich (and thus cool and a very good thing).

Tim,
That is an amazing car and congralutions on your purchase. I work in Richmond VA and live just 15 miles south. I am trying to jog my memory and remember if I have ever seen this car before. The name Nauman rings a bell but I just haven't put it together yet, but you may have already talked to him. You probably know that Hechler Chevrolet sold some great cars back in the day. The yellow ZL1 69 Corvette that Wayne Walker found came from Hechler. I think they also had a 69 ZL1 Camaro as well. It's kind of cool that your original owner lived on &quot;cool lane&quot;. Very fitting for this car.
I would like to call you and talk to you about a 67 that I have and get your opinion about a few things if you don't mind. I got your Ph# from your for sale ad on the bike. Look forward to talking with you.

Dave, let's visit. the maroon/saddle 435 roadster was ordered at the same time and it was a sidepipe, aluminum wheel car owned a number of years back by the fellow I bought this one from.
I have lots of service receipts from '67 and '68 from Hechler Chevrolet. They swiped the Warranty Plate on every service call for warranty reasons.
