I used Chip at Power Steering Services. http://www.powersteering.com/
When I got mine back, it looked good enough to put on the mantle! Good guy to deal with and specializes in GM boxes.

X2 Albert. Chip did my gear box and pump.

I though Chip only did power steering units? I do my own but parts are very hard to come by. Al, if anyone can rebuilt it you certainly can!

You sure it needs a rebuild and not just an adjustment? More often than not they just need a 1/4 turn on the adjusting nut and it's good to go.

I tried that..helped a little but still almost 1/3 of a turn play!

Mine was like that and I thought the same..'worn steering box' - especially after I too tightened up the adjusting nut with no real improvement..
Turned out to be the Pitman arm splines worn and all of the play was from that as the box proved out to be good..
