This info. may have been posted and I missed it, and I, too kinda remember the article, but...is the ZL1 a later version, or a numbered unit from a car, or a vintage over the counter engine?
Love the car!!!

Thanks, its TOTALLY STOCK ZL-1! its amazing what these motors sound like. Very few people have ever heard one, much less drive one.
This car is killing me, please someone buy it so I can quit dreaming about it.
This has to be my favorite color combination, and the RS equipment is nice.

Ain't that the truth also amazing too is the $ people spend on much lesser cars!
May be a different car but am I remembering this car on here about 6 years ago, maybe when you first got it Greg?
Best wishes to whoever the lucky new wheelman ends up being!

Thanks Pete. I have had this car for 17 years and for the first twelve it was a totally original survivor in excellent shape, and no one cared. The ZL-1 motor was my experiment so I could drive one of these amazing motors. I used Ed Cunneen's book for my correct info. Just amazing.
Just going by the flea bay ad.....I think it was a bargain at 75K.

I am surprised you are selling the car. I've read the Hemmings article several times and remember you saying you'd never sell. I know life throws some curve balls and I hope it is not out of necessity that you are selling. I really like the car, but now isn't good timing foe me. I'm still recovering fro major back surgery and have had some "issues" regarding recovery. That and the lack of storage just makes now not a good time. I, too think $75k is reasonable if not a little bit of a bargain. Maybe try one of the larger auction houses. I see you are in CA and there are several in August during Pebble Beach week. Good luck!!!

Several people have said in that magazine(and other magazines too) that they will never sell their featured car-then they do. I guess once you reach the top, it's time to start again. Plus the exposure brings out offers. I don't have to sell the car, I want to sell it to make room in my garage for something I have planned.

Here is info not posted before. Original owner kept all service records, receipts and credit card receipts in this notebook thru all the years he owned it until he sold it on 9-24-88. He did his homework before purchase, pricing out the demo car he was buying since the window sticker was gone. Notice "Ram/Air Hood" $79.00. He was friends with the Sales Manager Claude Hartman.

1st Dealer service he had, dealer really dinged him on charges. 75 cents to check the P.C.V operation is highway robbery! I guess these adjustments weren't covered under the 5/50 Warranty!
