I'm guessing he's referring to this thread:

The recent Tuttle'ating tale was about ZL1 #43.
Different than the doctored car w/ #48 Vin, I'm hoping this really is ZL1 #48 and the mixed up Vin digit also being in Canada thing has given it an undeserved tainted reputation?
So welcome aboard Rick, if all is genuine please bring on the facts as there's probably no better place to reveal the truth than right here!

Was looking at the old thread, and noticed something funny about the cowl pics.
I just took a measurement from the hole to the 9, then take that measurment it equals the distance from the 9 to the 1... Go to the other pic and do the same-- Not even close. Those ARE NOT the same car Cowl pics.
And before someone says something , it doesn't matter what size the pic is blown up to. The ratio CAN'T change.
No pony in this show, but one of these cowl pics is not like the other. Who's pic is right???

look at the seam sealer on the top of the firewall on the primered car where the vin panel meets the center firewall panel, that seal has totally been re-done you dont see that too often unless the firewall was rotted out or the upper panel changed?

Just spoke to Joe from Guelph, he was wondering what you did with the rusty "69 Z28 he sold you and your fertilizer friend. Joe found some more parts for that car, and he'd be glad to sell. He has a copy of GM Docs as well for this car.
Also wondering about the '70 1/2 375HP rotten, unfixable Camaro, and the rust free body you got in Breslau???
Joe said he still has a copy of GM Docs for the rotten car.... Feel free to call him anytime, to help check build dates, etc....

Rick,
Before you start calling others out of the woodwork, why don't you post the pictures of your car and sheetmetal dates to clear the fog?

This should be about the authenticity of ZL1 # 48 but it looks like it has degraded into personal attacks. I guess it is a crime to fix cars with rust.
The owner of this ZL1 # 48 supplied pictures that were previously posted. It appears there were more than 1 vehicle with the serial # of ZL1 # 48 stamped into it as noted by the vin stamp pictures. The example painted at Carstar had sheet-metal dates in June '69, obviously not correct for ZL1 # 48. At this point all we know is that there is at least one 1969 Camaro painted lemans Blue with the ZL1 # 48 vin, a repro trim tag with incorrect BDY #, Canadian title with no real history, no drivetrain and questionable paperwork.
I guess for a potential $ 500k sale no one should question anything about the car, let the buyer beware and keep our mouths shut. That would be best for the hobby I guess, and lets attack the honest guys in the hobby for caring about the cars more than the money.
I don't think this car will ever see the real Gibb paperwork for ZL1 # 48.

It was made personal when information was posted that has not been verified, you and Bill have both been given the chance to go and do that!
What a load of shit “fix cars with rust" the cars mentioned were paper, a rust free roller and an idea to sell cars for profit at the height. There are a lot more of them tied to Elmira, so spare the soap box and you’re higher than mighty bullshit. The idea of guilty by association my be part of the problem.

Looks like Car Star might have few skeletons in the closet?? , this all sounds like a case of the pot calling the kettle black. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/rolleyes.gif
