There comes a time in every carguy’s life when he realizes that he has too much stuff. The toy garage is full and he does not have room for new purchases which is what excited him most in the beginning. Darrell Davis and I both find ourselves in this position. We have decided to make a clean sweep of all of our keepers no matter how attached we are to them. All of the cars are located in Sanford, FL (suburb of Orlando)

Darrell Davis collection

1963 Plymouth: A Sport Fury convertible with 426 Super Stock equipment. AACA Jr and Sr. Never shown at a AGN meet. It is a Mopar Nationals OE Gold car. Has build sheet and production records. White with blue interior. Three speed close ratio manual, radio and heater. Originally sold by Cox Motor Co. in Tulsa, OK. Ended up in the 70's in Washington state at Ft. Lewis and was stored for many years until restored in about 1999 or 2000. I bought the car after the MoPar Nationals show where I saw it. Complete validation by Galen Govier. Not a certification but the complete car. A three day inspection. Included in the books that I wrote. One of 17 Sport Fury convertible Super Stock manual transmission cars built and one of I believe of only two that have survived. 150,000.00

1928 Plymouth: One of the first Plymouths built. Model Q 4 door sedan. The car was actually called a Chrysler Plymouth and was built in Highland Park, MI before the Plymouth plant at Lynch Road opened in January of January of 1929. No record is available from Chrysler as that microfilm tape I have never been able to find. It was once owned by Bill Harrah and he bought it from a fellow named Ruby in NV. This goes way back. It was sold by them long before the Harrah auction to a man in Iowa and then to John Pildner in Ohio who restored it in the 70's. It is largely original and runs great. The interior has original elements and is a bit unusual as it has the optional leather interior. It is black and blue and is an AACA Jr, Sr and Grand National winner along with a win at the Plymouth Club Grand National meet. 17,500.00

2001 Plymouth Neon. The last Plymouth built. When Chrysler announced the shut down of Plymouth I asked the President and EVP of Sales and Marketing, both close friends of mine if I could buy the last Plymouth. I provided the specifications and the car was built in June of 2001. It has every option except automatic transmission (it has a 5 speed). I also have the articles that were written at the time in the newspapers. The car has 62 original miles on it and is silver with black leather. The car had 20 miles on it when it arrived at the dealership (Massey CP in Daytona Beach) and I drove it to Sanford. I asked them not to do the cosmetic prep so all document was still in the car. The original window sticker is still attached. It is all original except the battery and it has a replacement MoPar battery. I also have the important part of the banner that was over the assembly line when i drove the car off the line. The car has been started and warmed up on a regular basis without difficulty. It will start and run properly on demand. Make offer

57 Chevy convertible: Black/black 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible. Restored by Curt Austin who at that time specialized in tri 5 Chevys. 283 HP, 283 CID FI with Wonder Bar radio, heater, wsw tires, full wheel covers. Dealer installed are spinners, front rubber bumper guards, factory floor mats. It is AACA Jr, Sr, Grand National and twice Grand National Sr. It has been best trailer restored at Classic Chevy and Bow Tie Chevys. It won the AACA Annual Grand National Award. It won two major awards at Amelia Island and has won awards at Meadowbrook and Concours of Eastern US. The stainless sweeps are original not repros. The anodized gold emblems are all NOS. The car was one of the last 57 Chevys built and came from Oakland, CA. I have owned it for over 20 years. It is equipped with a 3 speed manual transmission and looks like it was restored recently. 135,000.00

fuel injected versions were rated 283 HP - converts and other models so equipped that year. No offering was 250 HP rated......most were less than 250 HP except the FI and dual carb config.

FI 1957 hydraulic cam motor was rated at 250HP. Solid lifter cam was 283 HP Corvette had same 250 hp and 283 hp as well. I dont believe the 57 chevy belair converts ever had solid lifters based on what ive ever been told , only the black widow coupes had 283 HP ,hence my question.

What I read about it tells me FI was offered in several variations. There are ads out there on ocassion that state having the 283 HP version with sold lifters so I guess we reach our own conclusion. I'll do some further looking to see if I can find anything more.

Here's one example...............

Dave is one of the nicest real "car guys" I have ever met, (and I have met a few!) and has always collected the best of the best, and made them even better.

Darrell is also a great guy and is well known as the author of many Mopar articles, and he literally wrote the book on Max Wedge Mopars.

If you are looking for no questions cars (or a really awesome truck) for your collection, you can't go wrong with either of these fine gentlemen.

While digging up predigital photos of my old 65 truck I found ALL the original dealership paperwork when the truck was first sold when new. Includes: Owners manual&plastic storage pouch, original Truck Owners Protection plan booklet WITH original Protect-O-Plate still mounted on back cover and PDI sheet from dealership and a few other items,,,,,,Can you say PRICELESS? This stuff has been lost for over 13 years!

Thanks to the Yenko site Marv Bookman, the talented restorer of my 409 pickup is putting the original paperwork for the truck in the mail to me. Cannot wait to get it! Marv is an absolute gentlemen and a real credit to the hobby. I am proud to call him my friend.

Also, sold the 57 Chev Convertible.
