After owning my Nova for over 10 years now I feel it's time for a change.Purchased new at EDMONTON MOTORS in Canada. Is an original L78 car.As you can see by the pics it is a solid no.2 car.Has always been stored in a temperature controlled garage since I've owned.I've only put around 1200 miles on her. She's led a pampered life.Have 4 large binders full of info and receipts going back over 30 years. Now has a 4 bolt main 454 in it with a B/W super T10 trans. But has it's born with ''HIGH PERFORMANCE'' square port heads,intake,distributor,12 bolt 3:55 posi,am/8 track stereo, high rev tach and console gauges.Body is original and arrow straight.Back wheel wells were repaired.Floor and trunk are perfect.New clutch 100 miles ago.New 15x7 Cragar mags and tires 250 miles ago. Also have a 4557 completely restored and re-built carb, with the correct build date, not installed yet, that goes with the car.The headers are ceramic coated and the exhaust system is 3" custom made.Car was wet sanded 3 years ago.The Nova is appraissed and insured for $45K I'm asking $35K U.S.I'm located around 80 miles north of N.Y.state.Can arrange enclosed trailer transport at buyer's expense.Thanks,Bill.Hit link at bottom for lots of pics.

Open the link at the bottom and one of the pics will show you the G.M.Canada docs.

Little more info:has a tilt steering wheel.Besides being rust and repair free the underside of the floor has been re-painted.No undercoating. And the windshield and back window have been re-placed with correct factory tint, which the car originally came with.

Interesting that the car was built with a white top and black interior ... unusual combination, nice car

Mistake on the G.M.Canada docs. The accompaning letter with the docs claims ''the records are as complete as we can make them''.I bought the car off of the second owner and he says the car came with a black vinyl roof. And he bought the car when it was 2 years old.

Bill...does your car have 2 dash tachs?

BJCHEV396
05-31-2013, 03:19 PM
The original L78 high rev tach on the left is small and hard to read, does work just disconnected,so I installed the bigger, easier to read tach,on the right.

Received a couple of PM's inquiring if the speedo is MPH or KPH.It is MPH.Will be posting a video this week.

New video link is posted at the bottom. I've disconnected the bigger aftermarket tach on the right and re-connected the original high rev L78 tach on the left.I have the original clock that goes back in the right side.

Car looks GREAT!!! GLWS.
wish i had the funds for another car.

Anybody can remove the stickers in 2 minutes if they dont like them. That car will sell quickly. Where can you get a Nova in that condition in the 30's??

was it originally an auto?

C'mon guys give me a break on the decals!A lot of muscle cars in that era had the back windows full of decals.I know, I'm old enough to have been there. It's a beautiful car and you're hung up on decals!

Beautiful car Bill and a deal especially w/ Canada paperwork!.
Why build one when a fella can buy in at this price done and be cruising right away?
I like the decals as they scream period to me, wheels are cool too and both easily changed.
Best wishes to the lucky new owner of this sweetheart!

Car is no longer for sale.Been a lot going on with potential buyers and it's been very frustrating.I'm going to keep the car and complete it's DAY2 look by installing the great traction bars that I bought off of MOSPORTGREEN66.And thanks for the PM Tom,I appreciate the kind words.Bill.

Back in the day when the guys around here bought BIG BLOCK Camaros and Novas the first thing they bought from the dealerships was a First Aid kit and a Extinguisher. You gotta be ready for the unexpected.

I have seen/owned MANY novas in my day and have a number of them still in my car collection. Some rare and some not so rare. My wife also has 2 of them and my daughter has a 1969 nova SS(30,000 original miles)race car she is building presently
i am a pretty picky guy and looking at your nova pictures think you have a great ride. We collect and restore to our own likes and dislikes, that is what makes this hobby so interesting and fun.
i personally see nothing wrong with your nova, and feel you have really put your heart into it. The big picture is that you like it and enjoy it. Anyone that is serious in the car will buy it because of the excellent restoration job you have done on it.
have a great day

Mel only states the obvious, and that certainly does not make him a moron. Nor should pointing out that "a restored Nova should not have an underhood decal that is only found on Fords" irk anyone.

Just pointing out that Day-2 decals are great! I think the other ones that would really never show up on certain cars were critiqued here. No real harm done in my opinion. When we put our cars for sale or on display we have to accept what the forum says about them or don't place them on the Forums.

MEL, its obvious that you know what you were doing, so don't play stupid. You've been a member for 5 years, 19 total posts and 4 of those posts are in this thread, making snide remarks about this car.

What's my nationality got to do with it?!I would NEVER point out what I thought were flaws of another member's car. That's not why I joined this site.My Nova is far from stock or correct.I built it for my likes and for car shows. That's what I enjoy.

Nice response. (we all love our flags like our children.)

Ryan (Proud Canadian)

PS: I am waiting outside a Canadian Walmart and the huge Canadian flag is not flying high as the rain is holding her down tonight. Otherwise I would have added a pic.
