I looked at a well documented 1965 L79, 2 door, Malibu today. Real window sticker, warrantee book, etc. New med blue paint on a pretty rust free original panel car. original engine, 4 speed, and 12 bolt. original bench seat interior & carpet in good shape. Underneath & suspension are original - 65k miles on car. That's about it on options. Any idea of price? $35k too much?

That sounds like a fair price to me.

rare too. Most of the L79's were SS's that I have seen in my life

Congratulations on the 1st Jr. wish I could have met you. I helped judge so I wasn't with my car much. The '65 was interesting.

Hey Bergy,
I was at Carlisle too. Didn't realize that was your Yenko. Would have liked to have met you. I had my 68 Nova SS survivor there in the HPOF class. Just tried to send a PM but it looks like your box is full.
BTW beautiful Yenko!

Thanks Dave. A bunch of us will have to make sure that we meet up at Fall Hershey AACA (if not before). That '65 Chevelle was just a really cool ride. Turns out that the owner doesn't want to sell it very bad. They built over 6,000 L79 Chevelles in '65 - not rare or particularly fast, but I liked the look and colors on that one.

To be honest I dissagree with that statement. L79 chevelles are rare in my book no matter how you look at it and when you think they made like 50,000 SS chevelles. Nice 65 SS malibus are bringing 25k all day long with the nothing motor in them when they are as nice as the car you looked at. I think your missing the boat on this one. Just my opinion.
