69 Nova shock advise

Looking for good set of performance shocks for my 69 Nova project. It will be a street driven big block, 4 speed. Basically a stock looking Nova, but I want to put a decent set of shocks on it, that I can paint shock grey, and stay close to a factory look.

Bill,
lighten up a little. You've got two completely stock cars sitting under covers in your garage. Do this thing up "day 2" and paint the damn shocks yellow or red!

I've had a set of KYB's on my Chevelle for over 20 years and they have worked well. Relatively inexpensive and have held up over time.

I painted mine shock grey too but they don't look close to stock - especially the rears, but that's OK.

here are some choices...there are lots of choices for quality gas shocks...we used them on our 68 BB car..handling and sraightline performance are good...I'll try to find out the brand.

the word &quot;koni&quot; comes to mind ... adjustable for the ride / performance / handling as YOU see fit

they will not raise your car, they just work as shocks ...

Thanks for all the suggestions. The plan from the start was to build a driver hot rod, but to keep it fairly factory correct. It's getting manifolds, smog, etc. I thought about some day 2 stuff, but that happens, it will be farther down the road. I'm building what a 69 COPO Nova would have been, with a bit more cubic inches under the hood. It will have an M-22, 12 bolt, no engine badging on the motor or body. The only decision I haven't made yet is whether to put the SS Nova grills on the hood, like a COPO Chevelle got.

Bill, for a driver that you will enjoy, I second KYB's. Go on ebay and search for &quot;Hurst shocks&quot; and you can buy the sticker kits to replicate the original Hurst shocks.
