69 L78 Chevelle, original, unrestored except paint

[TDW]

Black on black,original 10-10 car. Paint is beautiful, base coat-clear coat. All orginal sheet metal, glass, trim, interior. Complete, original born with, matching number drive-train. All original smog system still intact, never removed. Engine, trans, rear-end never removed or worked on. M-20, 3:73 posi rear. No factory docs found in car. Car was inspected, certified original by MacNeish before I bought it 10 years ago from a well known collector.

I was at a small car/bike show last Sat. I see a nice old Harley with a sice-car attached. I go over and have small talk with the owner. I tell him that I have two 1940s Goulding side-cars that I would sell for 5 grand. He gets all excited, says his buddy has been looking for one. His buddy came over Monday, looks at them, and offers me 3 grand. I not so politely told him to GTFO and don't ever come back. The side-cars are worth over 3 grand each, and he damn well knows it. Once again, I hate most people.

Hey TDW (Tony) I feel your pain. About 8 or so years ago, I made a handshake deal on two cars, (one was mine, the other was a good friend's) with the owner of a certain large auction house. His buyer looked the cars over for hours, we agreed on a price for the pair, and shook hands with a phone confirmation form the auction house owner. Well, Sunday morning the car hauler shows up with two checks for $30k less than we agreed to---$15,000 per car. Needless to say, I told him to GTFO!!! I ended up paying my friend the agreed upon price for his car because that's how sure I thought the deal was. I didn't want his car, but I am a man of my word---unlike the person I refer to above.

Thanks Bruce. I don't think the car could have gone to better owner. Out of all the guys that called or e-mailed me about the car, and there were many, Dave is about the only one that had a genuine interest in the car for himself. This is the first car that I ever advertised for sale. I got a prety good education. Most people wanted to steal it to flip it. Even after I put &quot;sold&quot; in the ad, two different guys called and wanted the car. I was offered full asking price plus more. I'm sure that I offended both guys when I told them to FO, it's sold. Too bad. When you guys out there in Arizona see it, I think you will be impressed.

Yeah, it looks like the PHI logo doesn't it...speaking of BP, yesterday we finished a 2 day BP audit. It seems that ever since the GOM disaster they have tightened things up....a lot.

I fly for Air Evac Services which is the medical side of PHI. If you fly with them you are on with the best, best aircraft, mechanics and pilots. I had multiple job offers when I retired from the USAF and went with PHI because of the maintenance. I was offered a little more money from some of the competitors but some of them cut corners when it comes to maintenance. Its one thing for your car to break down along side the road. Mechanical issues while flying helicopters can get very exciting, very quickly....been there done that, boring flying is fine with me!
