It's certainly not a supercar (to say the least), but I couldn't resist buying it none the less. It will be a great Florida car. !975 Caprice Classic convertible with 36,000 original miles. Bought from the original owner. No rust ever. original paint (beautiful). Original top. Loaded (A/C, all power, AM/FM/stereo tape. I've never owned one of these big hoopties before - I think that I could get used to it (getting old?). Anyway - thought that I'd share it:

Rich - It's a 3 part epoxy that a friend uses on big water tanks. Tough as nails. Very hazardous to apply. B

Cool car. I fondly remember riding around in my aunt's 73 Caprice vert as a kid.

Question for you guys that drive survivor type cars - I'm going to take a 5 day drive in the Caprice from PA to Florida. Already changed the plugs, wires, hoses (radiator and heater), belts, dist cap & rotor. Saved all of the old parts. Now - question is - should I be changing the rubber fuel hoses? They look & feel good but I'm concerned about de-lamination on the inside. Looks like the tank has to come down to change them.

I would definitely change the rubber fuel hoses. If any of the lines on the pump inlet side are bad, it can/will prevent the pump from priming.
