Today I saw a 58 full size Chevy two door wagon which showed lots of signs of wear and tear. On the side there were two cast emblems, one directly over the other. The one was the old style large cross flags and the lower one simply said "YOEMAN". I have never seen or heard of this "tag" before. Could that have been what they called a two door wagon in 1958? Opinions appreciated.

Now be honest Bruce, did you know the answer or did you have to Google it? <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/naughty.gif <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/smile.gif

Thanks pal, I like to learn something new every day <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/biggthumpup.gif

The host club has now uploaded its pictures and here is the car in question. You can vaguely make out the cross flags above the script.

I'd bet the cross-flag emblems were added on.

So are the flags added or real? If real then what engine do they denote, the 348?

I was always under the impression flags were V8 cars and non flags 6 cyl cars.Im probably wrong though.

Not in '58. They denoted model, not engine. '59, '60 & '61 used crossed flags to denote the 348.
