Wouldn't that one be between the bellcrank and the trans?
I think it might be a 2889 or 2890 that goes between the column and bellcrank.

Rick's correct, upper 4-speed muncie steering column to swivel rod part # is 2889. The lower rod from the swivel to the reverse lever is 5497. These rods are the same from 69-72 on all muncie 4- speed chevelles, regardless of engine option. Small block and big block doesn't matter just has to be a muncie trans not a saginaw.

Correct, I sent Brian the picture of the 5497....that is what he needs.

If the rod Brian is looking for is indeed the lower lockout rod # 5497 I can help if needed. I understood his posting to be for the upper rod to the column # 2889. I currently don't have any spare uppers so hopefully it's the lower that's needed. I have a supply of reproduction lower rods with the correct forged ends and part # and MW manufacturer stamp as seen at the bottom of the last photo or a limited supply of used originals.(the one on the top in the bottom photo)
