I'm sure this has been discussed. Does anyone know the minimum amount of the floor to cut out to install a Hurst Ram Rod Shifter in a factory 4 speed 69 Camaro? The original hole is still in the floor.

As a misguided teen I hacksawed up the tunnel on my 1969 Z11 in high school. The Ram Rod has straight line linkage rods that run alongside the trans, with no bends whatsoever. You have to pretty much cut the entire side out of the trans tunnel to make it fit in order to not have the tunnel metal bind the linkage. It was a really neat setup, though.

I don't know if this will help, but on my Chevelle and Vega, I cut down the mounting brackets to minimize the room needed. On the Chevelle, the straight rods were kept and I did have to modify the entire side of the tunnel. However, on the Vega, I used shift rods from some different kits and bent them to fit tight to the transmission.
