Anyone have a in-expensive way to ship a car from Tahoe California to Chicago. It does not run so it would have to be winched onto a transport. Reliable, Passport Transport, & Intercity Lines all want about the same, around $2000.00. I really don't want to go the broker to a broker to a broker route. Any reputable way would be appreciated. I need it transported in the next 30 days. Thanks.

I know Jim's work. Very careful...Jim Rhinehart. Lives in the Chi-Town suburbs.

Tell him Perry suggested you call. I think you'll be pleased and satisfied.

Have you considered trying www.uship.com (http://www.uship.com) ?

I bought a Victory Vegas a few years ago, and had it shipped through one of the bidders on there and it went perfectly smoothly and for a reasonable price.

You put what you want shipped, whether it runs or not, from where to where, and other details and shippers bid on the job. They have ratings much like eBay so you can see what other customers have to say and how well they were satisfied. Might be a cheaper alternative for you.

I've used U-ship to move a car and have had customers use it for parts as well. No issues.

$2,000 seems high for that distance, even considering the non-op cost & winch. Did you call around & check prices? You can try to get a quote from A1 Auto Transport (https://www.a1autotransport.com/) - they're always free and I've paid less with them than you were quoted & it was for a longer distance. Definitely worth your time to put in some leg work on the front end before making a decision. Prices can vary quite a bit.

I just used a guy called Sparetime Express(Terry) I had a boat on a trailer shipped from Tucson to Wichita KS yesterday 7-17-16. The guy hauls a lot of cars for Vanderbrink Auctions and a couple other midwest ones. He charged .75 cents a mile from here to there. He has the provision to pull a trailer by the ball up on a his trailer. His number is 402-587-0515 if you can wait on his schedule its worth it. Larry.
