Nivia is our 4th Yellow Lab. My daughter raised her for Guide Dogs but she was failed from school because of a questionable hip xray. Thank God for that! She has been a loyal family member for 10 years now and I can't imagine our house without her.

Thanks Sam, she is shaping up to be a great companion. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/smile.gif

That said, she was none too amused when we had to hose her down and towel dry her before she came back inside...that is, until she got inside the door.

Then it was full-tilt dumb*$$-attack time...running top speed through the house--wild-eyed, head bobbing up & down, soggy ears flapping in the breeze, hell bent for election, claws dug in the carpet, Rockford-style U-turn at the end of the hallway, top speed to the back of the house again, them slamming on the doggy-brakes, skidding to a stop at my feet, hunched down in front, butt up in the air, tail wagging so hard her butt was wiggling, and a look of total mischief written all over her face.

Dopey dog. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/grin.gif

Love my dog. Great stories.

That's her snoozing on top of a couch right in front of me while I am on the computer, she can stare at me for hours as she loves her master.
Other photo is her guarding the back yard, her favourite pass time is chasing squirls

The other morning at 2am, a big dog I had never heard before, started barking like crazy. Wondering what the hell was going on, I sat up in bed...15 seconds later, a small earthquake hit. The dog barked for another 15 seconds, and then back to dead quite. On the news, the following morning, the epicenter was 7 miles away. That dog somehow knew a good 20 seconds before it hit.

Beautiful pup Kurt. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/biggthumpup.gif

They sure can be stinkers when they put their minds to it (both figuratively and literally), but the unconditional love makes it all worth it.

Big dogs are the best! We travel so much that we had to downsize though. Kelly (below) was on the agility circuit until she got sick - now retired and a great companion.

Dogs are amazing.

This is Firda the Hovawart with her frisbee that she can't live without.

A 130 pound male Rottwailer tried to take the frisbee from her once, bad move. He whimpered away with a big cut in one of his ears and never dared to go near her after that <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/grin.gif
