If pictures are worth a thousand words, this post is already 7000 words long.

Whats the story?

Stefano, quit holding out on us. What's the story?

Tom looks proud as well.

While it's not a current find we never discussed this one here.

It all started when the Former owner contacted The Nickey Registry because he believed that his Camaro might be a NicKey 427 Conversion. Nickey Registry Member Mike G checked our limited data base and found nothing to connect the Camaro to NicKey. He did however find the matching VIN on the '67 Yenko Camaro list!

Ha! Gotta love it. I would be willing to bet that put a smile on the owners face!

Steve, is it going to be restored? Whats the owners plans? Did Warren have paperwork or was owner history found? Inquiring minds want to know. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/burnout.gif

I find it interesting that it is a 3:07 gear with 15 inch wheels and G-70 tires. I see nowhere in the parts list a cost for that upgrade. IMO G-70 -15 tires would be a real problem on the front of a 67 Camaro with rubbing issues...BKH

I also noticed a difference in the VIN, looks like they inverted the last two numbers in the paperwork.......27 or 72?

This is the first hydraulic camshaft 410 HP, automatic transmission '67 Yenko I've ever seen and with the 3.07 rear gear it sure wasn't destined for the dragstrip. It would be interesting to know if these particular cars had L-72 engines with a hydraulic camshaft swap or if they were possibly 427-385 HP motors with a "revised" horsepower rating.

they list the engine code as T0517MY which is a 396 325hp L35 AT
parts list only shows a 427 short block, traction bars, spark plug wires, and tach/gauges

looks like they used the original 396 L35 top end ?

I have seen 15 in wheels before on some 67 Yenkos but not G70 tires... maybe a typo?

the 3:07 gear sounds odd ........ what code is on the rear in the car today?

other Yenko paperwork shows 3:35 gear for the Super Camaro 410 which can't be correct for a 12 bolt

is there a pic of the trim tag on this car?

An original owner Yenko with the hydraulic engine and turbo that I have seen used the factory cast iron intake and I believe a CE 390 Hp Corvette block. It had a rear ratio change from the factory as well by Yenko..

David the guy we purchased the car from will be coming in to MCACN, this year. Say hello if you recognize him from the pics.

Deepwater Blue with Bright Blue is one of my favorite color combo's.
It's amazing Don didn't offer the 69 in Dusk Blue after the number of 67-68's ordered in Dark Blue.
