To see all the Hot Rods, race cars, big blocks and the people that still hold on to all this muscle cars things and "BACK IN THE DAY STUFF" would like going back in time how it was.

not anymore Paul. The Show is not like before. At least not in my eyes. The "real" racecars have vanished from there it seems.

NO the real race cars did not vanished from there{you said they all went over seas} because my 67 Nova will be there for the first time from since 1968 in a heated trailer, should I put the slicks on it. Because the Original Owner said he can't wait to be there,if you are cold you can stay in the heated trailer if you want... Real Race cars at a Real small Race Track that closed in 1968 "What Do You Want"... ps: It is Free to get in.

what class did your nova run in back then? Any vintage pictures of it running at Vargo? Not cold Paul just upset that the "vintage" race cars are no longer coming there like before. The first few years was killer to say the least. if anything whoever goes is helping out the Boy Scouts which is a good thing. I may ride by and give a donation to the cause and just keep going. $15.00 to enter and $5.00 to spectate. Have fun!

I'm being a bit hopeful, but the fellow who was the original owner of the car has been working on digging up some old stuff on the car. He says there are some pics, just has to find them. He seems like a go for the show this weekend! He used to run with some guys from B&W in Wyndmoor. I reached out to them and they've confirmed things- which is pretty exciting for me. There may even be some pics of the car from people displaying at the show.

Sam what Vintage class did you run... Sam with the 302 in a 1967 Nova Modified Production... Also with the L-88 BBC Modified Production. I was not the owner then and I have no pictures of the car then...

NONE! I ran A/Bracket in the early 70's at Maple Grove. Sometimes I ran C/MP and went 11.50's @ 119. That was my best. Besides, I am not old enough to be "vintage" yet Paul.

That is pretty fast Sammy! I never did much more than Friday night grudge races, though the HighSchool Challenge at the Grove was my 1st, slowest yet favorite event. I'll have to get some VHS vids converted.

Still have the time cards somewhere. Was a LT-1 with stock pistons and an old Engle Roller cam from my buddies race car. Had 4.88's with a 4 speed in it but needed more gear. had to weigh 3,250 to run Small Brute eliminator. Had a pair of the original angle plug heads on it I bought from Shaws Speed Shop in about 1972 or so. 750 DP and a Tarantula intake rounded it off.

This was a good show in its infancy, even Benny made a cameo with his silver COPO! It was neat to back the Deuce into line on the main drag strip - or what was left of it. The only local show better than this was the old Prysuski's cruise - eh Paul?!

I certainly had a blast! I went there with my 3 yr old son. We trailered my dad's Nova just to be safe cause I wasn't looking for any drama. Although I was busy with my son and have very few pics of the show, we had a great time. Ended up running into a lot more people I knew, surprisingly.

There were enough genuine nostalgic cars to keep the vintage vibe strong. There were also plenty of cars built in a period theme, though without real history behind them. My only real criticism is that there is not real pre-registration so the field of cars was pretty random. If they could have grouped the cars better, it would have been that much nicer.

The swap area was small, but I still found this NMW safety loop. I thought it was cool since it was orange, where several NOS ones I've seen in different color boxes have all been bare steel. Just from my exposure to all things NMW, I am certain this is original paint from the manufacturer. I also have a guy buy the NMW shirt off my back! I guess I need to do another run of those.

It was a shame I was't able to talk to the owner of this car. I've heard the Bash cars were all yellow. When my Dad's Nova had the big block in it, it was sponsored by Bash. Originally I thought Bash had something to do with the swap, but the original owner said he basically got a discount and some parts for the name.

Very nice Paul! Dads car looked great at the show with the slicks and Cragars...looked right at home.

Son looks to be having fun as well. Glad you had a good time and were able to get dads car there too.

Next time have dad drive it up!

No pics this year Sam. I haven't been there in a while. Trust me I'll coordinate better show coverage next year. Heck, by then I may even have more cara to bring!

Looks like a nice turnout of cars, I certainly don't remember them filling the length of the drag strip in the early years of that show!
