Hey Jason, Did you ever figure anymore about the history of your bars? Though they may have been a production item by some small company, I'm not convinced they were not just some one-offs using a stock lower shock plate like this one:
http://i710.photobucket.com/albums/ww101/Plowman7/Day%202%20Stuff/CamaroShock_zps24254f96.jpg (http://s710.photobucket.com/user/Plowman7/media/Day%202%20Stuff/CamaroShock_zps24254f96.jpg.html)

The part I am showing it a repro part and I'm not sure it is the same as the ones used on your bars, but they appear to have a similar origin. I think the bars are neat looking. The square tube is a look everyone seems to like. Heck, this could be how Bill Jenkins prototyped his first set. Not sure how great the tin plate holds up in competition and the lack of a J- bolt but they are cool!

Paul,

That could be the case. If someone did make them they did a nice job with the angled front nose and rubber snubbers.

I have an old M.A.S. catalog and I believe that is who made them, they look a lot like the MAS traction bars with rear bumper and front snubber.

Whitetop you are usually right on this, could they be MAS traction bars?

I recently picked up a pair of very similar short bars so I would say not homemade. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics/usergals/2013/11/full-11877-7720-image.jpg

Okay, not homemade then. Do you think they were Chevrolet sourced shock plates?
