It was originally called Armistice Day to mark the end of fighting in Europe during World War One...it now honors all our service men and women who have served and are serving. I saw this article about a daughter's reflection on her father's Naval service during Vietnam...very well done.

Very nice, thanks for sharing!
A customer I don't know well had just come into my office this morning a couple minutes before 11-am as I was watching the clock.
He was talking as the bagpipes came on the radio and I mentioned it's 11:00, without hesitation he quickly pulled off his cap and bowed his head as we sat quietly for the minute of silence.
Afterward we shook hands and talked about grandfathers in WW1 also those we knew and know still around from WW2 plus today's heroes in harm's way at that very moment.
Most don't get it anymore but it's sure nice when someone does!

Thanks to those who gave and still do offer their all!!!

Thanks Chuck for your service.

My kids went to Remembrance Day Services in town with school. Last year my son was selected from our Cub pack to lay a wreath at the Cenetaph.

We had a moment of silence at work.

I said a thank you prayer just now for the peaceful life my family enjoys every day.

Happy Veterans Day to those who served to preserve our freedom, including my 87y.o. father in law who fought in Normandy!
