----We are seeing the wind big time up here north of Detroit. St. Clair river, right outside my window, had 3 footers an hour ago and now they are 5 and higher. They dont get much higher than this. Tornado warnings in our county, but it just doesnt seem like a tornado type front. At least, I hope so!!!!......Bill S

Some of you know my brother Dave is in Washington. Luckily he, his wife, and toddler age daughter were up here in the Rockford area visiting us today when all this happened.

Unfortunately his house was in the line of the tornado and while still standing my guess is will be a complete loss based on pictures we have seen. Going down tomorrow to make a better assessment and get the ball rolling on what to do next. His in laws had severe damage as well. Houses just 2 lots to the east of his were leveled and nothing left other than foundations all the way down the street. As has been said here before - the physical things can be replaced/repaired. We are thankful they are OK.

----Jake,,,Glad Dave and his family were with you, but so, so sorry to hear about the damage. One good thing is the strong family he has behind him. If I know the Dykstras, Dave will come out of this stronger than ever....Oh,,,Was the boat OK?.......Bill S

Thanks Bill and everyone else. Boat and truck stored somewhere else for winter so OK. Amazingly the Camaro looks to be OK other than needing a good detail even with the roof of the garage literally being blown off over it.

They have a long road ahead of them and are among the more fortunate. 300 feet to the east and they would have had nothing to come back to other than a foundation. Like a scene out of a movie, still hard to comprehend after being there all day.

Happy to see the camaro made it out in one piece! Dave might be right, he's surely had his fun with that beast! It would be terrible to hear he lost it after all these years.
