View Full Version : Help ID My Traction Bars 69 Camaro

These bars came on my car when purchased in '79. I plan on putting them back on in my restoration. Hoping someone knows something about these vintage parts. These were made by welding two "L" channels together into a box configuration. there are spaces between welds and not the entire length of bar (see pics). The total length to point is 29-7/8 in. the box part is 1-1/2x1-5/8 in. The only stamping is a "MC" with "E" below (see pic). Don't tell my wife I used kitchen counter for pics,LOL.

Possibly homemade, using stock multi-leaf shock mounting plates?

are they usable? Homemade I would assume.
I would almost guarantee they are homemade. My dad made a set on his Nova with angle iron stock laying around the shop. Can't wait to see them cleaned up. Got any old pics of how they used to look?

One side rounded clamps all homemade,if they work use them.
