For my 68 Nova, who makes good fitting / nice chrome bumpers.
I think my front bumper is the original, needs rechroming, but a quality chrome job is way too expensive IMHO.

the repop ones don't look like the originals unless that got changed. Getting them rechromed is expensive but definetly look better in my opinion.

I looked into this when I needed bumpers for my Nova. I was told the new/triple plated AMD bumpers were as nice as you will get for repro's. I got mine from an ebay vendor Tamrazs. They have free shipping, and sell AMD's......For what they cost, they're nice. The fit is real good, and they look like the originals. The chrome is good, but not like you will get from a high dollar chrome shop.
If your originals are in pretty good shape, I'd send the to Tri City Plating in Tenn. They did the bumpers on my 68 Chevelle, and my 69 ElCamino. They are very nice, and they give a life time guarantee. Their cost is about $350 per bumper. The AMD bumpers were about $140 each.

ell, I think my front is original and rear is a cheap repro, would it look odd if I had my front done by TriCity and an AMD for the rear?
Also, I remember back in the day, I worked for Wallace Chevrolet around 69 thru 74, and the originals were good but no where near a quality replate of today.
Thanks Bill.

very, very few would know front front to back if one is a repro. if the car is going to be a lets say number 2 driver I would go with both repops. There are probably other things you could spend your money on then rechromed original bumpers or a pair of NOS ones for this car.

You worked at Wallace? That means you street raced some Yenko Deuces off the lot! <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/grin.gif

That means I at times picked up Yenko Deuces stored at Linden Airport, a few miles from the Wallace dealership. Maybe rolled out onto Route 1 around 10 in the morning, stopped, looked around, and as a favor to the prospective new owner, did an "engine break-in" on the way back.
