I read somewhere that another exists with sales docs, that sold the day before this one as I remember. It was an article on both cars and the dispute between the two owners as to who has the first one sold to the public.

They are quibbling over semantics a little bit.
The first Mustang <span style="text-decoration: underline">produced</span> is the one sold to the pilot from Newfoundland, and now resides in the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn Michigan.

yes, the first sold to public is quite different then first car built.
