i put my car in the garage and covered it up a while back because of some health issues. some may remember the car it was in members rides back in 06. thanks bruce. i was in the process of getting it the way i wanted it. i have my health back and im going foreward with my project. i recently put some big block springs in and had to pull the stroker motor have not opened it up yet. i put a solid cam and lifter 350 in it. running very strong. i am going change the rubber and am thinking about a 8 inch rim in the back? i would like to go with bias ply tires and get rid of the bfg radials. maybe some slicks out back <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/grin.gif any input or suggestions from you guys would be greatly appreciated. i included some recent pics and a video for referance. thanks. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics/usergals/2014/02/full-931-9446-dscn0716.jpg

First, glad you're feeling better. There's not much more important than your health.

Now regarding your Camaro: That thing is perfect looking to me. I love it. Looks just like the really nices ones did in 70's and I'd drive that until the wheels fell off, as-is.

Well Vince, When I first saw your car I thought about this look here:

http://i710.photobucket.com/albums/ww101/Plowman7/Camaro/camp_1012_11_othe_camaro_nationals1964_427_camaro_ ss_zpsb7fb1c35.jpg (http://s710.photobucket.com/user/Plowman7/media/Camaro/camp_1012_11_othe_camaro_nationals1964_427_camaro_ ss_zpsb7fb1c35.jpg.html)

You could debate which tire is more correct, the ones above or this one here:

http://i710.photobucket.com/albums/ww101/Plowman7/Camaro/HarrellBlue_zps0035ae30.jpg (http://s710.photobucket.com/user/Plowman7/media/Camaro/HarrellBlue_zps0035ae30.jpg.html)

Same car, just different tires. I have seen a few vintage pics in 69 with cars still running the pie-crusts. Certainly into the 1970's the wrinkle wall is more correct (and faster)!

http://i710.photobucket.com/albums/ww101/Plowman7/Camaro/coolcamarowithbiatch_zpsf3bd82a1.jpg (http://s710.photobucket.com/user/Plowman7/media/Camaro/coolcamarowithbiatch_zpsf3bd82a1.jpg.html)

If you wan't to run a 15x8, I would get the max offset and adjust wiht spacers. I think the max is 5-3/8th offset. Mount up an L60 and enjoy the fat tire look!

As an alternative, you can simply do a 15x7 or even a 15x6 wheel wiht the tire bulge set-up. I think Brent said his Dynomotion Camaro had 15x6 wheels in this picture.

Welcome back Vince! L60 Mickey's or Goodyear's in the back and some skinnies up front for your look. I like the 6.50X15's with some 15X4 inch Cragars. 15X 8's or 15x7's non deep dish for the rear. All black walls in my opinion.

thank you for all the kind words and the suggestions. that's what makes this a great place to stop in and spend a few hours <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/grin.gif paul that second pic with the blue streaks man that looks good. haven't seen those in a very long time. sam the mickey L60s with skinnys up front was how I had it set up back in the 70s. i feel like I want to lose the RWL and the radials right now. paul thanks for those pics I now have a new screensaver. thanks all.

The two Dick Harrell cars in those pictures ARE NOT the same car. The top car is running vintage Stahl 7:10X15 on the front with vintage 69 Cragars all around. The rears are also vintage NOS M&H Racemasters. I know nothing of the bottom car..BKH

Thanks Brian. After I posted the, I started to notice some differences, like trim and front bumper. The 1st car I think I first recall seeing back around 2004 or 6. It is an incredible car! The wheel and tire combo is PERFECT! Thanks for filling in those details. SCW always nails the wheel and tire combo.

The 2nd calonger.abbed a pic from the auction web site. Admittedly, I did not read. I tried to get a pic posted at the same time the snow kept causi g the lights to flicker and I would loose internet. Being anxious to get it posted and not loose the post, I just fired it up. Probably should have looked at things a bit longer. Sorry guys.

I like this shot. Is that someone in the passenger seat?? Looks like somebodies grandmother waiting to go somewhere. When I was stationed at Dover AFB Delaware there were 2 SS Camaros that color. one 350 with black stripes like yours from Salisbury Maryland and one 396 with white stripes. The 396 SS, the guy was a load master on the C5 and when he left on missions he always chained his car thru the frame to a street light pole with a 10,000 lb. cargo chain. Always thought it was funny to see that.

Your welcome. It wasn't much. 10 years, 73-82, and I got rifted, if that is even a word, during the Reagan administration. Worked on all the cargo planes, C5, C141, C130. I love working on aircraft and really miss it. Been to Viet-Nam on an 89 day TDY and spend 3 years in England and Europe. It was an adventure I would suggest anyone take.

I guess you can see that as funny...about what I said. Just seeing that pic put that image in my head because where I live here in Clayton Delaware there is a load of old...really, really old people that drive still and most of the time it doesn't even look like there is anyone in the driver seat when your looking at the vehicle from behind. If your looking thru the front windshield coming at you all you see is fingers on top of the steering wheel and no head. My wife's mom, God bless her, was very short. All you would ever see when she drove was from the eyes to the top of her head. She wore these really big thick eye glasses and it looked very weird.

If you look at that pic you can make the case that maybe that is something like a police or firechiefs hat on the dash, or maybe a really short old lady with a beret or something like that. Remember..."Where's the Beef?" old ladies???

I was an aircraft maintainence specialist over 4 engines, frozen to the C5 at Dover AFB, but when I went to England, Mildenhall AB, I got way deep into working on all three. We did a lot of assists when the specialist came out at Dover, but it was in England and Germany that I honed engine changes and everything else from fueling to LOX service to walking on the top of the C5 T-tail to change that one light bulb that sticks way out back of the bullet. Yes it was fun. I can't tell you how many flashlights I dropped from C5 T-tail height. Can you say look out below??? real loud from 65 feet up??

When I was in England we always had a lot of the Pope reservist come over to help on their 2 weeks. I think they really came to drink at the pubs...a lot of them were begging to stay after their 2 weeks were up.

Where is Canton, Georgia Bob? I grew up in Atlanta, never heard of it. Heck there is a town called Henry too and I still can't figure out where that is. My ma was going to move there at one time but ended up in Phoenix.

Gary, Canton is just north of Woodstock up 575. It is about 30 miles north of Atlanta. I grew up in Stone Mountain and used to cruise on Memorial Drive back in the 1970's. I went TDY to Egypt, Panama, and Azores in the USAF. I never made it to UK when at Pope AFB. I mainly worked on the radar systems on the C130E.

I love bbbentley's pic. You gotta haved that "squared-like" feature where the side wall meets the tread. IMO, the radials don't cut it for the stance.

Here's another when it was ready to unload at Phil Borris's 2013 Norwood Reunion.
