Hi guys. Anybody here use the chambered exhaust hanger kit D&R sells? I see the price difference is huge compared to Ricks and C.I.'s and others I have seen on line. I just picked up a really nice used aluminized steel system to install this spring or summer, hopefully and was just wondering about the quality and why the difference in prices.

Other then whats showing in the pic, it looks like I need additional hardware, any ideas what I do need? Suggestions are welcomed.

Lynn,

I think that is what is on my car, it was already partially restored and on the car when I got it. The guy ordered almost exclusively thru D & R. I've had to make a few adjustments for proper alignment, but I haven't had any issues that I can think of and it's been on the car 4 or 5 yrs.

Hey Dave, if you look at the kit you'll notice something is missing. The hangers are there as well as the c-clamps but there is no hardware and that's what I'm trying to figure out what I need. Can't seem to find out exactly what is required to make this install go smoothly. I should be fine with the hardware to install the tailpipe hangers to the frame rails, I can use what is existing from my old crossflow system and I can only assume I can use the hardware for the hangers that hang down from the under seat area but I have no clue what clamps the hangers to the tailpipes and the mufflers once it all gets hung up. I can probably guess what I need but I was hoping that some of these professional restores here would give me some info at least to make it look somewhat like it was installed like OEM and not half a$$ed.

Finally found what I was looking for. If anyone is needing the same info UPC NC8 A-1 thru A-3 or pages 391 thru 393 in the 69 A.I.M. Only thing I don't see or can't find is what is used to attach both of those well mufflers together. I've seen nuts and bolts in pics on line but don't know if washers and/or lock washers are required. Any thoughts here??

Thanks guys.

I purchased a total exhaust system from D&R a number of years ago and had no problems for fit. They sell a OEM style clamp set which i bought also.I used my original bolts for the tail pipe hangers that go to the frame and used 1/4" S.Steel bolts from the hardware store for the clamp part around the pipes.

I'm not really sure if the original hardware is still on the car since the exhaust that's on it was on it when I bought the car in 2000. I'm hoping it is and it's way too cold to go working in the garage to check right now. The 1/4" screws for the pipe clamping, I'm think, and this is just a guess on my part, they are sheet metal style, is that correct?

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate the help.

Gary i used 1/4" bolts, but the assembly manual does say screw #9431541.Didn't know that at the time.Looks like i'll be changing those out for self tapping screws.Learn something new everyday...

I'm thinking self taping or sheet metal. If only someone that has a chambered system installed could just give a clue or maybe a pic it would finally put this to rest.

Same for the correct screws for the radio delete plates. Very elusive hardware.

I sent Ken Maisano a PM asking if he could see what is on the survivor he just acquired but haven't recv'd a reply so far. His X77 has chambered exhaust.
