Goodyear Custom Wide Tread Polyglas F70-15. Heat stamp UU2N40. Mold number C33341-1. Red Stripe one side, White Stripe the other. Have been told these were rare, used only as factory spares, don't know if that is correct. Thanks.

I love the thinness of the white and red. Would look great on a car. Great small accent, like a great pinstripe.

The first Polyglas were not introduced until mid year 1968. First car to have a RWL.... 68.5 CJ Mustang. The 68 Hurst/ Olds was equipped with a white stripe Polyglas.

I will communicate with my sources. I have not seen one before. GTO Don?

I have not seen one before. But all factory spares were the same as the other 4 tires and wheels (except spacesaver). Hence why buildsheets say (5) and the tire size/type.

Possible that this may have been used as a display on a stand to show how a redline tire looks in comparison to a whiteline tire??? Just a guess-- I dunno! <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/dunno.gif

That's not a factory tire. That the over the counter version instead of making two different tires so you had the option to use either side. I've seen lots of them with the Sears brand and Kelly Springfield and other gas station off brands were common. Haven't seen alot of goodyears.

That is right.. I recall seeing those for sale as a kid at a tire store. You had the option of flipping them as a choice of stripe color.

Yes, they tried this as a option to limit the number of SKU numbers. Could also have been rwl and rs, etc.
