I have an NOS (maybe technically not, as it was used on a test engine - one dyno run) Brown distributor cap that I got with an old very complete nos ti set up (same scenario - dyno run).

Apparently there is a huge difference in the value of the cap depending on whether it is a short cap or the tall cap. Found these two auctions on ebay:

Not that either of those is worth the asking price....

How can I tell the difference?
Anyone know the actual measurements?

Thanks Ken.

Sent him a pm.

Your handle always reminds me of the dialogue from an old Roc show. They are discussing a broken vcr.

Buddy: "I'll take it to my friend wizz. See what he can do."
Roc: "Do they call him wizz because he is good with electronics?"

Buddy: "No, he has a bladder problem."

Just in case anyone needs to know.

Apparently the "short" cap was only used on early FI cars with transistor ignition. It measures 3 and 5/8 inches from the bottom of the cap to the top of an outer tower.

The taller version is about the same as the black 309 caps, measuring 3 and 13/16.
