I found a 69 chevelle post car Canadian built 4speed trim tag says L35 which if I did my research right is a 325 hp car. It has a small block in it now. Car is a running driving car with rough paint decent interior it's had a trunk floor put in it. It has a 12 bolt in it. It's rough around the edges. What do you guys think it may be worth and how rare is it. I read somewhere that only 36 13427 cars with L35 396 were built for sale in Canada. Haven't bought it yet just figured out what it is. I'd like to here anybody's opinion

The best guy to get advice from is Dan Vasic on Post Sedans.
He keeps a registry of the SS396 Post Sedan cars.
Ryan
PS: What colour, and what interior?

I believe the post your talking about is red in color and a gentlen in Oakland county owns it. It's been for sale on and off for the last 4/5 years. If I remember right the asking price started around $18k and if my Brain is operating right at one point was down to $12k. If it's the same car but you have described it to a tee

It is red. Trim tag says its supposed to be dark green with dark green interior. Has black interior in it now. Its at an auction we'll see where it goes. I doubt any of the potential bidders now what it is so I'm not expecting bid to go very high. If it does then I guess they figured out what it is.

That car would be stunning when restored to green/green! Not sure of the seat inset stripe color, but a white dual stripe on a dk green seat........awesome!

Green Cloth seats got Green Stripes, Blue Cloth Seats got Blue Stripe. Black Vinyl or Black Cloth were the only to have the White Stipes <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/biggthumpup.gif

Just got back from auction. Car was at the Flint auto auctions annual corvette & muscle car auction. Owner did nothing to help sell car. All he said was it's a real SS car. Offered no breakdown of trim tag no write up about car nothing.. They started bid at 18 k nobody interested. Dropped to 12k not a single bid. Nobody there had a clue what this car was.. To them is was a beat up poorly painted Chevelle. To bad owner new what it was or you would be reading about the steal I got on car. Car is pretty much a running project car. Even as rare as it is I wouldn't pay close to that for car. Dan the pic you posted looks exactly like the car.. Did you see it for sale somewhere?

Has anyone spotted the 69 300 deluxe ss396 burgundy hardtop on eBay. Major project but the remanants of the white stripes on the black seats are still present and it was a stick shift car.

Mike,
Yes, I saw it....what a shame they let that car get that rusty. She still could be saved (would not be cheap), and sure hope someone does....it is certainly rare in that color.

I remember seeing that car on there when I was selling my 69 I believe it has a 350 in it now instead of the 396

I have to ask, what is the stripe color, light green? if the interior is dark green?
I also have to add, with cars as rare as the post coupes, these beauties are really coming to light, a big thanx to Dan!!
